LET’S TALK

ABOUT TRASH

There are separate trucks that pick up your blue refuse container and pick up recycling. Refuse collection begins on the east side of town by 7:00 am and works westward to finish by 11:00 am. Place articles outside the night before if you are concerned about missing pick up.

Since there are separate trucks, your blue container may be emptied before your recyclables are picked up.

The truck that empties your blue container is now automated with a mechanical arm that lifts the container, empties it, and returns it into an upright Position on the curb. Just because your blue container is upright does not mean it hasn’t been emptied. Please check.

Do not overfill your blue container. The lid should be closed. If you have too much trash, when the mechanical arm picks up the refuse container and lifts it into the air, your excess trash may spill into the street. The refuse service is not responsible to clean up excess trash spilled in the street.

If you have more trash that what your blue container will hold, you will need to purchase a yellow trash bag at the city office.
